Fourth Generation Operators
From a humble beginning with a spray rig and a few acres in Delano, CMC has grown into a diversified, fourth-generation family farming operation. Led by the Fishers, CMC encompasses a large custom farming operation with locations across four California Valleys, a coast-to-coast trucking business, a freight brokerage, and a propane business serving the entire San Joaquin Valley. The Fishers credit their success to the strong relationships they've built throughout the industry.
At CMC, every fruit tells a story of tradition and quality, cultivated through four generations of dedicated family farming. With operations spanning from coast to coast, CMC embodies the spirit of American agriculture, driven by family values and a commitment to community.
Our Story

CMC has been around since the mid-1970s and we started out as a spray business initially and ventured into the farming business in the late 70s. My brother and I now run CMC and we're fourth generation. We farm about 6 000 Acres collectively between Bakersfield and Fresno.
What’s unique or different about CMC is we really take a Hands-On approach to what we're doing. We're intimately involved in the sourcing, growing, fertility planning, varietal selection, packing and the marketing of the fruit. The most rewarding part is to walk out into the Orchard and see the literal fruits of your labor and look at the quality of the crop on the tree.
We have moved towards an aggressive strategy to really take advantage of a difficult Market with water with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) settling in to California. A lot of people are wanting to run away and get out as costs are going up and we're actually going the other way we're running towards the problem and we're looking for good partners to help us source and grow these properties because there's tremendous opportunity that's going to be had here in the next 10 to15 years and CMC Opportunity Fund is going to be a big part of that future.
